Last Updated: November 2026 | By TravelJace Team

If you wan travel go Ghana, Kenya or anywhere, first thing you need na international passport. Many people dey pay agent ₦150k because dem think say e hard. Na lie. You fit do am yourself for less than ₦60k.

I go show you step by step, no agent.

1. How Much E Cost For 2026?

Immigration don update price:

- 32 pages, 5 years validity: ₦100k

- 64 pages, 10 years validity: ₦200k

Note: Immigration fit change price anytime. Always confirm for http://passport.immigration.gov.ng before you pay.

My advice: Carry the 64 pages, 10 years own. E better, you no go dey renew every time. If you wan travel plenty, na that one be best.

You go pay online, no pay cash to anybody for office.

2. Requirements Wey You Need

Before you start, gather these:

- NIN (National Identity Number) — na must now

- Birth Certificate or Age Declaration

- Local Government Certificate of Origin

- 2 passport photographs (white background)

- Guarantor form — your guarantor must be person wey get passport, like pastor, lawyer or civil servant

If you don marry and you wan change name, carry marriage certificate join.

3. How To Apply Online (Step By Step)

No go office first. Do am for house with your phone.

Step 1: Go to http://passport.immigration.gov.ng

Step 2: Click Apply for Fresh Passport

Step 3: Fill your NIN, name, date of birth — make sure e match your NIN exactly. If e no match, dem go reject am.

Step 4: Choose your Passport Office — choose the one near you, like Ikoyi for Lagos, or Gwagwalada for Abuja.

Step 5: Pay with your ATM card online. Print your receipt and appointment slip.

Na finish. You no need agent for this part.

4. Wetin Go Happen For Capture Day

For the date wey dem give you, go office early — 8am.

Carry:

- Your printed appointment slip

- Your payment receipt

- Your NIN slip

- Original birth certificate

Dem go take your fingerprints and your picture. E go take like 30 minutes if you come early. If you come 12pm, you go queue tire.

5. How Long E Go Take To Collect?

For Lagos and Abuja, e dey take 2 to 4 weeks now for 2026. For other states, e fit take 3 to 6 weeks.

No pay anybody to fast-track am. If person tell you say bring ₦50k make e fast am, na scam. Just wait your turn, e go come.

You fit track am online with your application number.

3 Mistakes Wey Dey Delay Passport

1. Name no match NIN — If your NIN na "Chukwuemeka" and your birth certificate na "Emeka", dem go delay you. Go fix NIN first.

2. Wrong date of birth — Double check before you pay. Once you pay, to change am na wahala.

3. Using agent — Agent dey fill wrong info many times, and you be the one wey go suffer am.

Final Advice

Do am yourself, save your money. Once you get passport, your next step na to try Ghana or Benin Republic — no visa needed, you go build travel history.
